Instructions of preliminary olive oil acidity measurement inside olive oil industry
- Fill the bottle of the burette with the “SOLUTION” (blue letters).
- Press the bottle to fill up the burette. Release the bottle in order to automatically reset the burette.
- If you see air bubbles in the solution inside the burette, empty it and repeat the process
- Measure 11 mL of olive oil using the volumetric cylinder.
- Pour the olive oil into the volumetric (conical) flask.
- Fill the volumetric cylinder with solution entitled “ΔΕΙΚΤΗ ΕΛΑΙΟΞΥΜΕΤΡΗΣΕΩΣ” (red letters).
- Shake and empty the solution in the volumetric (conical) flask.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 two more times.
- Pour slowly “SOLUTION” from the burette inside the volumetric (conical) flask, stirring thoroughly until the solution inside the conical flask is colored red.
- Gradual indication of the burette provides olive oil’s acidity.
